Hem Raj Khadka

Hem Raj Khadka is a public health professional with over two decades of experience in health promotion, public health, health education, health communication, and community health development in Nepal. He holds a Master of Public Health (MPH), Postgraduate Diploma in Health Promotion and Education (PGDHPE), Master of Public Administration (MPA), Master of Arts (MA) in Sociology, and a Bachelor of Law (LLB).

He currently serves as a Health Education Administrator (HEA) at the Provincial Health Training Center, Dhangadhi, Kailali, Sudurpashchim Province, Nepal. Since 2003, he has contributed to public health and health promotion initiatives across Nepal, with extensive experience in health education, healthy lifestyles, health behaviour change, risk communication, community health promotion, environmental and occupational health, climate change, one health, mental health, and health policy and programme planning.

He has served as Acting Chairperson and General Secretary of HEPEAN and has published articles in national and international peer-reviewed journals. He previously served as Chief of the Provincial Health Promotion Center, Dhangadhi, Kailali, Sudurpashchim Province, Nepal.

Dr. Salikram (Shalik) Dhital

Dr. Dhital is an accomplished public health specialist, academic leader, and current Postdoctoral Fellow in Australia. He holds a PhD in Public Health and Behavioral Sciences from the University of Newcastle, an MSc in Public Health from Denmark, and a PGDHE. A former Senior Health Officer for Nepal's Ministry of Health and Population (NHEICC), he has over a decade of experience driving national health promotion, behavioral change and crisis communication strategies — notably tobacco control, WASH, and COVID-19 risk communication. A widely cited researcher and textbook author with over two dozen peer-reviewed publications, he remains committed to public health capacity building, university-level teaching, and health equity across South Asia.

Binod Kumar Aryal

Binod Kumar Aryal is a dedicated public health professional and academic leader, currently an Assistant Professor of Public Health at Purbanchal University, a faculty member at Yeti Health Science Academy (YHSA), and Principal of Holy Vision Technical Campus. A former Epidemiologist for the Avian Influenza Control Project (AICP), his expertise spans epidemiology, health promotion, and nutrition programming. He actively contributes to national and international research advancing "New Public Health" practices and evidence-based health systems, bridging theoretical frameworks with practical fieldwork.

Roshani Poudel

Roshani Poudel holds BPH and MHPE degrees and serves as Assistant Professor of Health Promotion and Education at the Institute of Medicine (IOM), Central Department of Public Health, Maharajgunj, Kathmandu. She has been engaged in academics, health promotion education, and public health practice since 2012, focusing on teaching, research, and strengthening public health education in Nepal.

Ram Kumar Shrestha

Ram Kumar Shrestha completed his MHPE in 2016 and BPH in 2008. He has worked in health promotion since 2017 and in public health services since 2008, contributing to peripheral public health services in Nepal since 1999. He served as Executive Member of HEPEAN for two tenures and has been actively engaged in health education and community health promotion activities.

Thalindra Pangeni

Thalindra Pangeni completed PGDHE in 2003 and holds an M.Ed in Health Education, currently pursuing an MA degree. He serves as Senior Health Education Officer at the National Health Training Center. Since 2008 he has been actively involved in health promotion, health education, health communication, behaviour change communication (BCC), and advocacy awareness programmes, and previously served as an Executive Member of HEPEAN.

Sheela Shrestha

Sheela Shrestha holds an M.Phil in Health Education and completed Medical Education in 2002. She serves as Senior Health Education Administrator at NHEICC and formerly worked as Deputy Spokesperson and Communication Focal Person at the Ministry of Health and Population (MOHP). She has extensive experience in capacity development, training, health promotion, health education, health communication, policy formulation, strategy development, and guideline preparation.

Arun Gyawali

Arun Gyawali completed PGDHE in 2003 and holds M.Ed and MA degrees. He is a Senior Health Education Administrator at NHEICC and has served as Senior Health Education Officer and former Principal of a Technical Campus, working extensively in policy making, planning, capacity development, professional training, and health promotion.

Madhav K. Shrestha

Madhav K. Shrestha completed MHPE in 2018 and PGDHE in 2008. He currently works as Senior Health Education Administrator at the National Health Training Center (NHTC), actively involved in health promotion, health education, and health communication activities.

Lok Raj Pandey

Lok Raj Pandey is a Senior Health Education & Information Officer at the National Center for AIDS and STD Control (NCASC), Ministry of Health and Population, with over 15 years of government-sector experience. He holds an M.Ed. in Health Education and a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education, and is currently pursuing an advanced degree. Since 2008 he has specialised in health promotion, communication, behaviour change (BCC), and advocacy, playing a key role in coordinating training initiatives, capacity building, and HIV/AIDS prevention strategies. He has also served as a former Executive Member of HEPEAN and as Coordinator for the establishment of the Shahid Dashrathchand National University of Health Sciences.

Kamal Ranabhat

Holding an MHPE (IoM) and a BPH (PU Pokhara), he has over seven years of public health experience specializing in policy, program management, and strategic coordination across all government levels. His expertise includes translating health data into actionable plans for HIV, NCDs, and Nutrition, alongside strong skills in data analysis, indicator-based monitoring, and supportive supervision.

He has led large-scale, multi-sectoral initiatives as a Budget Holder, proficient in financial oversight, strategic planning, and team mobilization. Skilled in inter-sectoral coordination with government bodies, he also possesses deep experience in disaster risk management—including preparedness plans, feasibility studies, and early warning systems—ensuring effectiveness in both routine and emergency settings.
